Game Genre Overview

This Game will be a 2D Side Scrolling RPG Adventure game.

You will start of in a house and talk to different NPC’s who give you quest so you can obtain better items and level your character and team mates allowing you to beat bosses throughout the game and finally finish the game. You will play the game using your keyboard and mouse.

Graphical Interface

Backpack

This button will be used to access will be used to gain access to your inventory where you can see all your items/ accessories/ Weapons that you have obtained as well as customise your characters

Attack/ Defence icon

This icon will show you whether you are able to attack or not. You will know whether you are allowed to attack or not. You cannot attack when the 2 swords are behind the shield and can attack when they are in front of it. You cannot choose whether you can attack or not. 

Minimap icon

The minimap will tell you where you/ enemy’s/ NPC’s are in the current area. The green dot indicates where you are, the red dot indicates where the enemy/enemies are and if you see a blue dot that is where a NPC is. You will be able to enlarge the minimap so you can see more of the area

Interface Layout

This is a picture of what the game will look like when you are playing the game. As you can see the back pack is in the top left of the screen, the minimap is in the top right of the screen, the attack/ defence icon  is in the bottom right of the screen.

Terraria a game developed by the company Re-Logic is a Indie Side scroller action-adventure that was created using C# with XNA. You can choses to play the game ether by yourself in single player or with up to eight friends using the multiplayer side of the game. When playing with friends you have the option to ether co-operatively collect materials to build houses and get armour to battle bosses or you have the choice to challenge each other in a battle of strength and wits.

The only problem I had when playing this game was how it had no instruction on how to do anything until you enter the game and talk to an npc that tells you how and what to do while in the game. The only other way of finding out the controls is by looking at the controls menu in the title screen

Environments

 Environment 1

This is your characters home and where you will start you massive adventure to defeat the evil Dragon Lizard

Environment 2

This will be the environment around half way through the game and were you will fight most of your battles to get to the Dragon Lizard

 

Environment 3

This is the castle where the Dragon Lizard lives and where you will battle and attempt to defeat him.

 

Vehicles

 

Dark Wings

The Dark Wings have the potential to allow the character to fly for a short period of time and when it ends you will slowly glide down to the ground. The Dark Wings can only be found 1 at a time and when only wearing 1 wing you can only double jump

Needle Skates

The Needle Skates will allow your character to run 2x as fast and slightly increase your attack. When wearing the 1 or 2 Dark Wings your speed will increase to 3x

Spring Shoes

The Spring Shoes will allow the character to jump extra high. If you jump on the head of a low level monster it will instantly kill them



Weapons

Super Epic Holy Sword (SEHS)

The SEHS is a sword that has been passed down the family throughout 50 generations from father to son. The SEHS is the only weapon in the world that has the ability to destroy the creature known as the Dragon Lizard

Super Shuriken

The Super Shuriken is a ranged weapon that will be thrown by the wielder, hit the enemy and then come back

Ice Magic

Ice magic is a freezing magic that will slow any monster by 80% that are within a 3m radius of the impact

Main Character(Alfonse)

This is you. You are called Alfonse. You are the main character in this game. You were found on the streets at the age of 4 by Mr Redigety who then adopted you. 2 years after you were adopted your father Mr Redigety started to train you so that you can use many different weapons. At the age of 15 your father gave you his most prized possession known as the Super Epic Holy Sword also known as the HEHS. He told you that you must keep this on you at all times. When you first tried to held the sword it was as light as a feather but the second you put it on the table next to you the sword utterly crushed the table. Your father told you that only a member of the family or someone blest by a member of the family can hold this weapon as it is so heavy that no one else can lift it. 1 year after rigorous training with the sword your father then tells you that you must do what no other family member for the past 50 generations has ever done, you must kill the family of Dragon Lizards that have taken control our country and slaughtered hundreds of our people.

1 week later you set of on your journey to destroy the Dragon Lizard Family

Banished son of the Losin family (Linly)

This is Linly. He is a son of the Losin family. The Losin family is a noble family of the Dragon Lizards. As a kid Linly was banished from the Losin family for killing one of his own while trying to protect a villager from the town of Klonsaly. Klonsaly is a town that was taken over by The Losin family by order of the Dragon Lizards. After being banished he travelled to a swamp land (Environment 2) you meet Linly during your Quest to defeat the Dragon Lizard family. At first you battle Linly thinking that he is still part of the Losin family. After defeating him you find out that he was banished for killing one of his own while trying to protect a villager and ask him if you want to join forces to defeat the Dragon Lizard family.

Main Boss (Lord of the Dragon Lizards)

This Is the Lord of the Dragon Lizard Family also known as Boronasky but everyone just calls him Boron. He tells the other family members what to do and when to do it. He became the lord of the family because he was born with a special ability known as the lava beam. The lava beam is called lava beam because the beam is so hot that it will melt anything it touches into a liquid of the same heat as lava yet stoping it from turning into a gas. He also is the strongest member of the family as was trained with the last lord of the Dragon Lizards. On top of the special ability he has the normal attacks that every other Dragon Lizard. as a kid Boron’s mother and father had high expectation of him, this caused a rebellious stage where he would leave home for long periods of time to train when he was supposed to learn how to deal with family matters as well as political matters as the lord of the Dragon Lizard’s not only commands the Dragon Lizard Family but would also have to command the people of the area that the Dragon Lizard family have taken control of.
